My song of the moment – Carley Ray Jepsen >> I really like You

carley ray
Needless to say the song is amazing. It’s the perfect song for that lady or gal u’ve been crushing on. Just lay this down on her at the right timing and u just may most likely hit it off with her. I know I will.

Check the audio-visual out featuring Tom Hanks and Justin Bieber below:

We all love to be serenated with love songs especially from that ‘special someone’ (which happens to be the title of the number one song on my list) like the Mexicans do, but in the meantime, you can serenade yourself with these amazing African love song collection I compiled which I believe you would love. Check them out:

SARKODIE FT BURNA BOY AND AKA (Special Someone) – I especially liked Aka’s flow in the song. If you are a fan of fast rap, then this track will thrill you as Sarkodie and Burna did what they know to do best with their fast paced lyrics on the roll:

BECCA FT M.I (No Away) – The astonishing voice of the beautiful queen Becca complemented with Mr Incredible, M.I’s dexterity on the mic when he lays those verses down makes this love song ‘No Away’ beautiful to the hearing. Listen for yourselves:

WAJE (Oko Mi) – The solo performance by the talented songstress Waje on this track speaks volume of her as being one of the most delightful divas to come out of Nigeria. Her captivating voice on this song ‘Oko Mi’ which means ‘My Husband’ where she praises her dream man will leave you spellbound. Listen:

R2BEES FT BURNA BOY(Somebody Loves You)- Ghanaian music group R2bees and Nigerian sensation Burna boy thrill us with this good feel song, guaranteed to make every single lady out there ‘melt’. Feel on it:

FLAVOUR (I’m for real) – Flavour has been known for dishing out love songs such as the much loved Ada Ada song, and he didn’t disappoint with this very heart-touching one titled ‘I’m for real’. The video for the ballad is particularly exciting! Check on it below:

PASUMA FT TIWA SAVAGE(Ife) – A very unusual but welcome combination, Tiwa Savage and Pasuma wowed us with the beautiful love song ‘Ife’ meaning ‘love’. The chorus rendered in native language Yoruba was the highlight of the song. You will fall in love helplessly over and over again listening to it even if you don’t understand the lyrics That’s the power of good music. Check it out:

LIQUIDEEP(Still) – South Africa emanated soul and house music  sensation duo, Liquideep, who were popularly known for another soothing ballad titled ‘fairytale’ gave a heart rendering performance expressing the depth of their love in this song titled ‘Still’, which sure had a nice feel and rhythm to it. Where do I begin, is it from the ‘sick’ production of Legendury Beatz or the passionate delivery by Mr Ice Prince Zamani, the tune is definitely going on my 10 top list of Naija hits for the outgoing year 2014, and I am proud to share this musical ingenuity with you if you haven’t stumbled upon it already. By the way the song, which was inspired by a true story centered around love and heartbreak, sees Ice Prince referencing some very popular couples in the industry to buttress the song theme. Also, I heard the video might be dropping today, 27th November, 2014, don’t quote me tho’. Let’s keep our fingers crossed, and I’m sure hoping the video complements the audio. Mixed and mastered by City Monsta and Phaze Hop, this emotional feel good music I must emphasize will WOW you. Listen, Enjoy and share! *.*

A Rap Song titled ‘Tiwa Savage’ by AQ [MUSIC]

Tiwa_Savages_studio_portrait-copyNow I stumbled upon this musical piece on, which is sort of like an ode(lyrical poem) where a certain rapper called AQ pours his heart out on  his music industry crush Tiwa Savage, who he was hoping he would land as his wifey someday. He raps about how he first met with her and how he nurtured his mission to woo her, but it didn’t all work out. He did his self-esteem no good, in my opinion when he mentioned in one of his lines that he couldn’t possibly impress a lady like her.

The song produced by BeeDee and co-produced by Beats by Jayy, had a touch of Asa(the songstress) in it, which sounded cool but probably unnecessary, but the chorus in my opinion was nothing to write home about to put it mildly, LOL. But I guess, he wasn’t planning to go commercial with the song, so I can forgive him for that. I gotta give him kudos for at least coming out and expressing his thoughts  and advice about the delectable Mrs Billz, I do hope Mr Billz appreciates his woman as much as this dude, AQ, does, for his own good and hers. Listen and share with the link below:

The amazing Tiwa Savage drops a remix of one of her sultry tunes, Shout Out off her Once Upon A Time debut album, with Mr Capable, Banky W, who keeps dazzling us with his very cool rhymes & versatility when he decides to put on his rapping hat . I learnt though, that the collaboration is gonna come off as the first single of a soon likely to be released mixtape of Mr RnBW entitled I’m not even a rapper though. The song is sheer genius! Listen up and download:

The chale tune by Onome [MUSIC]

Here’s a fine tune I think you guys should bump to and have on your playlist, and this is not even because she was my high school classmate back then, but because the song is a jammin’ feel good song where she sings about who she calls her ‘friend'(chale), nothing too serious really, and it was produced by the cool selebobo. It’s that kind of song that would grow on you even if you don’t get the hang of it at your first listen. So,Trust me  and check it out already with the link below from notjustok, and you can follow her up @officialonome on twitter & instagram. Enjoy!

It is no longer news that the movement called ‘shoki’ pioneered by Lil Kesh, the YBNL recruit, has taken the naija music scene by storm and it further stamped this assertion by featuring three of naija’s hottest divas- Chidinma(ms. kedike), Cynthia Morgan, and Eva, in a diva version remix, and safe to say, they all killed it literally in their own unique way. Loving Cynthia’s word play “no dey post me like monkey“. If you didn’t get that line, then it’s probably because you never played ‘monkey post’ football(needless to say that’s tragic),Lol, but don’t mind me, that’s by the way, focus here is to listen up and enjoy the tune if you haven’t yet! 3 Nigerian Tracks I feel strongly have not received deserved massive airplay

Elvee feat Donjazzy (prod. by sarz) – Ogapatapata

ELVee-Oga-Pata-Pata-ArtFirstly, I have to give major credit to Sarz on the beat, the hit producer of this track, Sarz definitely killed it no doubt, I mean, every time I listen to this hook, I literally get goosebumps, in a good way, and the Elvee twin sisters were on point with their vocals blending with the ‘bossy’ voice of the mavin boss himself Don Jazzy, who rendered his only little part in the chorus rather effortlessly like a boss he is. Well, don’t take my word completely  for it, listen to it for yourself and be the judge, and thank me later. Here’s the link to listen up:  Let me know what y’all think….

May-D – cool temper

MAY-D.This one is for the love birds, a cool calm collected love rendition titled ‘Cool temper’ by mister May-D, gives you that smooth r ‘n’ b  good feel that is sure to catch your girlfriend’s listening ear and heart I might add, while leaving the guys ‘drowning’ with jealousy. But eh we gotta give it to the brother, he sang the song with his heart pretty flawlessly. His producer, who sadly, I have not been able to get a hold of his identity, was a genius on the production of this song. So without further ado, here’s the link for you to listen and be convinced to make a purchase or download the song afterwards:

Brymo – If you were mine

The-Son-Of-A-Kapenta-2This brother is in a class of his own and I do hope his leaving his former record label chocolate city music, won’t affect him and his music negatively. I’m sure he’s up to the challenge. That aside, I have to say this solo performance ‘If You were mine‘ ranks him as one of the most gifted songwriters and  vocalists Naija has to offer in this 21st century.

It’s another love song expressing his feelings about a lady he wishes he had, who’s loving another guy, and how he would lavish her with so much love, if she were his. Typical love case scenarios most would say. It’s definitely a jam in its own lane that should be given heavy rotation on our airwaves and should be on every one’s lips and music device, so go ahead and listen up and tell me how well you feel Brymo did justice to the song thanks to a fine production mastering and mixing alongside.

And that’s all folks, listen up and enjoy all three tracks and let me know your thoughts, if I was right when I said the three songs are not as popular as they ought to be. Cheers people!
